The great thing about the E-Mount lenses, is that there are a TON of options for you, and many at affordable prices. It gets the job done of course, and it's probably a good lens for anyone starting out, but you'll quickly notice its imperfections, as you did. You're right about the 50mm 1.8, it's on of the cheapest lenses you can buy in terms of price for good reason. Is it worth to buy cheaper lenses (Samyang i.e.) or better to buy sth better quality?įrom the things you listed, the Sigma 24-70 would definitely be able to cover your needs. Is it better to have 1 versatile lens untill I start specializing in sth or better to invest in prime lenses right away since (from what I read) pick are sharper, less chromatic abberation, less vinieting and better low light performance? How is the AF of more expensive prime lenses? 50mm 1.8 that I have now makes a lot of noise and is kinda slow.īasicly I like taking picks of everything - mostly portrets but also architecture and i want to try astro photography and landscapes in the future.

I don't know if Sony Gmaster series or maybe Sigma/Samyang/Tamaron tho. The other option is to buy 1 high quality fast prime lens - 24/35/70mm F1.(?). Do you know how's AF in that lens combined with Sony a7 ii I'm considering Sigma Art 24-70mm 2.8 since it's very versatile lens and I think (correct me if im wrong) this lens will hold its value and will work well with better body in the future when I decide to upgrade. I'm fairly new into photography - bought used camera and new lens (Sony 50mm 1.8) about 1.5 month ago. I managed to save some money (about 1.2k USD) to buy lens(es?) for my Sony a7 ii.
